Born and raised in Fairbanks Alaska and now lives in Ljubljana Slovenia playing professionally in the Austrian EBEL league. Hunter was a repeat attender of the Fairbanks Turcotte school and eventually an assistant instructor to Jeff Turcotte. Shortly after he became the head instructor of all Alaska Turcotte schools for the next three years. During his time as a head instructor he played Division 1 college hockey at Ohio State University. After his second season with the Buckeyes he turned pro signing a two year Entry Level NHL contract with the Montreal Canadiens. After spending two years in the American Hockey League with Montreal's farm team he played in South Carolina for the Stingrays in 2012. Following South Carolina he split time between the Lake Erie Monsters, Rochester Americans, and Manchester Monarchs of the AHL before making a decision to go play professionally in Europe.
Hunter and his wife have picked Charleston as there home, and he will now be spending his off seasons in what he recalls as the best city he ever played in!
